HEALTH & WELLNESS

For the 2020-2021 school year, several health and wellness measures are being implemented.  Please see below for details.

  • Daily Health Screener:  All staff, students, and visitors to the school are required to complete an online health screener prior to entry into the building.

Parents:  Parents must complete the online health screener daily for each student coming to school at least 15 minutes before arriving at school.  If you answer “YES” to any of the online screener questions or if your child has a temperature over 100.0 degrees, you should keep your child home and not bring them to school.  Unless your child has a note from a medical provider with a current diagnosis of an illness other than COVID-19, your child will not be able to attend school until at least 10 days have passed and they are symptom-free. During these ten days, students will be able to complete assignments virtually.  Each morning, the school will generate a list of students who have not completed the screener.  Repeated incidents of not completing the screener for your student(s) will result in the student being removed from In-Person Instruction and switched to Online Instruction.

  • Daily Temperature Checks:  All students, staff, and visitors will have their temperature checked prior to entry into the school building.  Those with a temperature above 100.0 degrees will not be permitted entry to the school.

  • Face Mask/Shield Required:  All staff, students, and visitors to the school are required to wear either a face mask or a face shield while inside the building.

  • Hand Sanitizer Dispensers:  Hand sanitizer dispensers have been placed in multiple locations around the school to provide easy access to hand sanitizer for students and staff.

  • Social Distancing:  Signage has been placed around the building to remind students and staff to distance socially.

  • Classroom Cleaning:  Desks will be cleaned daily with child-safe virucidal disinfectant spray, and each classroom will be cleaned nightly.  All classrooms have also been equipped with disinfectant wipes and disinfectant spray to be used as needed.

  • Bathrooms:  Bathrooms will be cleaned on a regular basis throughout the school day.  Social distancing will be maintained between each sink used for handwashing.  Paper towels will be used to dry hands to reduce spread of air in the restrooms.

  • High-Touch Areas:  Additional cleaning of high-touch areas such as entry door handles, student desks, and restrooms will be conducted throughout the day.

STUDENTS WHO ARE ILL DURING THE SCHOOL DAY ON CAMPUS

  • Any student displaying symptoms of COVID-19 will be isolated from other students until picked up by the parent/guardian.

  • Parents/guardians are asked to pick up sick children promptly once notified, preferably within 30 minutes of being notified.

IN THE EVENT OF A LAB-CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASE ON CAMPUS

  1. All areas heavily used by the individual with the lab-confirmed case will be closed off until disinfected.

  2. All teachers, staff, and families of all students in the school will be notified.

  3. The local health department will be notified for further guidance.

CRITERIA FOR RE-ENTRY TO SCHOOL

  2. There are improvement in symptoms (such as cough or shortness of breath), and

  3. At least ten days have passed since symptoms first appeared,
